(1923) The Police Gazette was published by Authority by the London Metropolitan Police, and circulated, as confidential, to the police forces throughout Britain and Ireland. The contents were based on the information routinely gathered by the Criminal Record Office. One of the regular features was a list of Aliens Expelled or Deported. The details given are full name (surname in bold); C. R. O. number, sex, year of birth, height, complexion, hair colour, eye colour, identifying marks such as scars; nationality; occupation; port of departure, and date; and the name of the police authority (in bold).
