King’s Ripton (Huntingdonshire) Court Rolls (1297)
Among the Huntingdonshire possessions of Ramsey abbey was the manor of King’s Ripton or Ripton Regis. In the Augmentation Office Court Rolls in the Public Record Office, a set of rolls (Portf. 23, No. 94) includes records of the manor courts of 5 March 1288 to 1 August 1303. Extracts from these were transcribed by F. W. Maitland, extending the Latin but retaining the spelling of the proper names, and printed with a facing English translation in 1889. In many cases the surnames were also Englished, but we have reindexed the text on the original forms alone: 29 April 1297

Inhabitants of Nottingham (1485-1547)
The muniments of the borough of Nottingham include extensive mediaeval archives. A selection from these from the reigns of Henry VII and Henry VIII was prepared and edited by W. H. Stevenson for the Corporation, and printed, with translations of the passages in Latin, in 1885. The principal sources used are the borough Court Books, largely dealing with civil cases, for which an almost complete series survives for this period; Sessions Rolls (92 survive for the two reigns), in which crimes and misdemeanours are recorded; a Mickletorn or Leet jury roll; detailed chamberlains' and bridge-wardens' accounts; and the Hall Books, or council minutes. There are lists of burgesses enrolled; bakers admitted to bake; and fines for licences to trade. A subsidy roll of 1523-4 lists householders by street, and there is an appendix of local deeds, including some material dating back to the 14th century.

British Casualties at New Orleans: Sailors (1814-1815)
The unsuccessful attempt to gain possession of the enemy's lines near New Orleans led to nearly 2000 casualties among the British forces, 23 December 1814 to 26 January 1815. The report of the losses gives the army officers' names, not those of the rank and file: but there are separate returns of naval losses during the capture of three American gun-vessels, listing all the sailors killed and wounded.
