The provincial sections of the Universal British Directory include lists of gentry and traders from each town and the surrounding countryside, with names of local surgeons, lawyers, postmasters, carriers, &c. (the sample scan here is from the section for Nottingham). The directory started publication in 1791, but was not completed for some years, and the provincial lists, sent in by local agents, can date back as early as 1790 and as late as 1797.

| White Poor in Antigua
(1821-1826)
The vestries of the parishes of Antigua raised a tax every year, under an Act of the island, for the maintenance of ministers and the poor; there were no poor rates. A tax was also assessed on merchandizes imported and sold within the island, the property of non-resident traders, in relief of the burdens of the parishes. The maintenance of the poor was weekly distributed to them; there were no free coloured or black paupers provided for by the parishes. The free coloured or free black were not taxed for the support of the poor; slaves were supported by their owners. This return of the white poor supported by the parishes was made to the Colonial Department: it gives full name, age, residence, and amounts disbursed, year by year. GUNTHORP. The 1851 census return for St Mary Newington, Surrey, registration district: St Peter Walworth sub-district: enumeration district 19: described as: "All that Part of the Parish of St. Mary Newington, which Comprises The East side of Walworth Road from Trafalgar St. to East St. South side of East St., to Richmond St., and West side of Richmond St. to George St., Including Bronti Place, Walworth Gardens, Walworth Place, & Beckford Place". This area lay in the ecclesiastical district of St Peter Walworth, and in the borough of Lambeth. HO 107/1567. The addresses listed in the actual returns are 1 to 26 Beckford Row; 1 to 44 East Street (including Good Intent beerhouse and Joiners Arms beerhouse); 1 to 4 Gloucester Place (including Royal George beerhouse); 22 to 30 Richmond Street, East Street; 1 to 41 Bronti Place; 1 to 14 Walworth Gardens, East Street; 1 to 8 Walworth Place; and 1 to 6 Beckford Place.GUNTHORP. The Calendar of the Trinity College of Music, London, for the year 1929 includes lists of licentiates and associates including these musicians. Surnames and initials are given; but women are distinguished by having their (first) christian name stated. The college provided instruction to nearly 1000 students a year, with examinations of 66,000 candidates a year at 700 local centres throughout the world. GUNTHORP.
