| The household of queen Charlotte
(1805) His Majesty king George III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was born in 1738, and succeeded his father, George II, to the throne on the latter's death in 1760. He married the princess Charlotte Sophia, second daughter of the Duke of Mecklenburg Strelitz, in 1761. They had fifteen children, including the future George IV and William IV. She died in 1818.
