The Roll of Honour for the firm lists the men who joined his Majesty's forces, arranged by their occupation within the company (lamp makers, lamp fitters, polishers, stores, labourers, brassworkers, toolsetters, lorry drivers and attendants, burnishers, a toolmaker, a dipper, an electrician, a spinner and an annealer) giving for each his surname, and initials. The names of those killed in the conflict are noted as such.

| Surgeons killed in the Great War
(1914-1920)
The Royal College of Surgeons, established by royal charters, issued this calendar 1 August 1928, including official lists of all its fellows, members, licentiates and diplomates. There is also this Roll of Honour, of fellows, members, and licentiates in dental surgery, who had been killed in action or lost their lives from wounds or disease contracted while on active service abroad with His Majesty's Forces. | Anglican clergy
(1930)
Crockford's Clerical Directory listed all Anglican clergy in the British Isles, India, the colonies, Europe, Asia and South America. The 59th annual issue, for 1930, is based on returns from all the individuals listed. The details given are: name (surname first, in capitals) in bold, prefixed by an asterisk in the case of university electors, and by a dagger whether the return had not been made, or it had been imperfectly filled up; name of theological college and/or university, and degrees, with years; a bold d followed by year and diocese signifies date of ordination as deacon and by which bishop; then a bold p, similarly for ordination as priest; posts (C: curate; I: incumbent; V; vicar; R: rector) with parishes and years; address; telephone number; and lists of books &c. where appropriate. In the case of the man then holding an English, Irish, Scottish or Welsh benefice, additional details are given - a bold P signifies the patron of the advowson; then the income, with items such as Q. Kelly's Directory of Blackheath, Lee, Greenwich, Eltham &c. includes this directory of private residents, listed alphabetically by surname and christian name, with address, covering an area extending from the river Thames on the north to Mottingham and Grove Park on the south, and from Eltham on the east to Deptford Creek and Hither Green on the west. The London telephone directory lists subscribers alphabetically by surname and then by christian name or initials, with their postal address and telephone number. This is the L to Z directory issued in May 1939, but also contains some names from earlier in the alphabet, for instance in the separate section for midwives. The London telephone districts comprised not only the city centre, but also the very extensive suburbs in the Home Counties (Essex, Kent, Surrey and Middlesex).MEERS. | Royal Corps of Signals: Territorial Army
(1946)
The Army List for October 1946 lists the 4300 officers of the Royal Corps of Signals by rank and seniority (i.e., the date from which their particular rank was to be reckoned). The names are given as surnames and initials. The many temporary commissions bestowing brevet or higher rank are listed in italics, with date, together with any decorations. In front of the surnames three abbreviations may occur: a bold R, meaning released to unemployment; a crossed-swords symbol for meritorious war service; and a pilcrow, for service without pay and allowances. There are separate sections for retired officers temporarily re-employed, the Territorial Army, and Regular Army Emergency Commissions (including African Colonial, Caribbean, Egypt and Palestine forces), Supplementary Reserve Category B.

The Birmingham Post Year Book and Who's Who is an annual publication seeking to give comprehensive information about the city's organizations and its eminent residents. The Year Book has separate sections dealing with the City Council; the Municipal Elections; Municipal Departments; The High Court of Justice; Members of Parliament for the City; Political Associations; Government Departments; Trade and Industry; Birmingham Consular Association; Banks and Branches; Birmingham Stock Exchange; Restaurants and Cafes; Health; Churches and Religious Congregations; Freemasons; Education; Child Care; Youth; Cultural Activities; British Broadcasting Corporation; Sports and Pastimes; Philanthropic and Kindred Institutions; County and Kindred Societies; International Societies; United Nations Association; Clubs; Transport; The Forces; Toc H.; Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes; Electricity and Gas Boards; Law List; Chartered Accountants; Incorporated Accountants; Certified and Corporate Accountants; Chartered Secretaries; Surveyors, Auctioneers, Land Agents and Valuers; Architects; Civil Engineers; Mechanical Engineers; Electrical Engineers; and Old Boys' Associations. The Institution of Electrical Engineers was founded in 1871 under the name of The Society of Telegraph Engineers, and incorporated by royal charter in 1921. This list of members, corrected to 2 July 1951, gives the names and addresses of the Members (M. I. E. E.) and Associate Members (A. M. I. E. E.), all of whom were entitled to describe themselves as Chartered Electrical Engineers. The names are given in bold, surname first; before each name is the year of attaining the grade of Associate Member (AM) or Member (M); and, before the address, the year of reaching each lower grade is also given, e. g. (G. 1931), G standing for Graduate, S for Student. Where the engineer was also a member of one of the institution's specialized sections, this abbreviation is given, in bold: M, Measurements Section; R, Radio Section; S, Supply Section; U, Utilization Section.MEERS.
