| Blind students in Southwark, Surrey
(1851) Blind children and adults from all over England came to the School for the Indigent Blind in London Road, Southwark to learn crafts such as basket making and weaving. This is the census of those boarding there on the night of 30 March 1851. Students were instructed by oral information, and by books in raised or embossed letters; and were taught a trade, to enable them to procure their own living. The suburbs included are Aston, Bickenhill Park, Birchfield End, Castle Bromwich, Erdington, Saltley (with Washwood Heath), Ward End (including Little Bromwich) and Witton, in Warwickshire; Handsworth (with Soho), Harborne, Perry Barr and Smethwick, in Staffordshire; and King's Heath, King's Norton, Moseley, Northfield, Selly Oak and Yardley (including Hall Green and Stechford) in Worcestershire. | British artillerymen fighting in Egypt
(1882) The war medal roll for the Egyptian campaign of 1882 is annotated to show those men actually present at Tel-el-Kebir, and thereby also entitled to the Tel-el-Kebir clasp. In addition, there follows an almost duplicate roll of men entitled to the Bronze Star granted by the Khedive of Egypt in recognition of the campaign.
