The list of subscribers includes sections for Ashton, Beverley, Boston, Dewsbury, Doncaster, Grantham, Halifax, Heckmondwike, Huddersfield, Hull, Ireland, Leeds, Lincoln, Liverpool, Manchester, Newark, Oldham, Rochdale, Rotherham, Sheffield, Stalybridge, Stamford, Stockport, Wakefield, Warrington, as well as separate lists of bankers and principals of seminaries. More precise addresses are rarely given, christian names hardly ever.

Perry's Bankrupt and Insolvent Gazette, issued monthly, included lists of dissolutions of partnerships gazetted in England and Wales. The names of the partners are given in full, surnames in capitals, followed by trade and address, and date of the end of the partnership. Each entry usually ends with the phrase 'Debts by ...', indicating which partner intended to continue, and resume the responsibilities of, the business. Gun & Co. of 6 Prince of Wales' Road, London, in about 1870 published this fourth 'List of Next of Kin & Heirs, &c., who have been Advertised for in the English, Irish, Scotch, United States of America, Canadian, Australian, East and West Indian, and other Newspapers, since 1704. Money & Property to the value of many Millions Sterling want Claimants'. The list of 4,128 names gives surname, christian name, and, occasionally, locality. The Unclaimed Money Registry and Next-of-Kin Advertisement Office of F. H. Dougal & Co., on the Strand in London, published a comprehensive 'Index to Advertisements for Next of Kin, Heirs at Law, Legatees, &c., &c., who have been Advertised for to Claim Money and Property in Great Britain and all Parts of the World; also Annuitants, Shareholders, Intestates, Testators, Missing Friends, Creditors or their Representatives, Claimants, Unclaimed and Reclaimed Dividends and Stock, Citations, Administrations, Rewards for Certificates, Wills, Advertisements, &c., Claims, Unclaimed Balances, Packages, Addresses, Parish Clerks' Notices, Foreign Intestates, &c., &c.' The original list was compiled about 1860, but from materials dating back even into the 18th century: most of the references belong to 1850 to 1880. For each entry only a name is given, sometimes with a placename added in brackets: there may be a reference number, but there is no key by which the original advertisement may be traced. The enquirer of the time had to remit £1 for a 'Full and Authentic Copy of the Original Advertisement, together with name and date of newspaper in which the same appeared'. TURMEAU. Various gratuities were awarded to officers and men who served on board her Majesty's ships during the wars in Egypt and Soudan. The Achilles, Agincourt, Alexandria, Beacon, Bittern, Carysfort, Chester, Cockatrice, Condor, Coquette, Cygnet, Decoy, Dee, Don, Dragon, Eclipse, Euphrates, Euryalus, Falcon, Hecla, Helicon, Humber, Inconstant, Inflexible, Invincible, Iris, Malabar, Minotaur, Monarch, Mosquito, Northumberland, Orion, Orontes, Penelope, Ready, Ruby, Salamis, Seagull, Seahorse, Sultan, Superb, Supply, Tamar, Temeraire, Thalia, Tourmaline and Wye were engaged in the Egypt Operations of 1882; the Arab, Briton, Carysfort, Decoy, Dryad, Euryalus, Hecla, Humber, Jumna, Orontes, Ranger, Serapis and Sphinx in the Soudan Operations of 1884; and the Albacore, Briton, Carysfort, Condor, Coquette, Cygnet, Dolphin, Falcon, Helicon, Humber, Iris, Myrmidon, Rambler, Ranger, Sphinx, Starling, Turquoise, Tyne and Woodlark in the Soudan and Nile Operations of 1884 to 1885. Some of these gratuities remained undistributed by 1902, when this comprehensive list of the unclaimed moneys was printed. In each case the sailor's name is given first (surname, then christian name or initials); rank or rating; ship in which serving at time of capture or award; and amount of award (usually £2 or £5).TURMEAU.
